There’s a period of time after sunset when it’s still light outside. The sun is no longer visible, but you can still feel it’s warmth. It’s a pleasant time of day, a time for relaxation and reflection. It’s over now, but today was a good day.
Today is my father’s birthday. He’s been gone for six months now and this is our first Dad’s Birthday without him. No goofy “Over the Hill” cards to buy. No new golf stuff. No cribbage game.
While the physical things are gone, the spirit remains. He’s right over there, just beyond the horizon, lighting up a new place.
